The Ever Growing Remote Control Industry

When I was a kid I remember getting a remote controlled car for my birthday.
It was amazing fun for a kid of my age.
It was only a small one that run on batteries but I spent hours in the summer holiday driving it around the driveway and road. For a small car it could definitely get up to some impressive speeds.

That was until recently my whole experience when it came to remote controlled cars.
How amazed was I recently when I went to buy one for my kid that I found there is a whole industry out there where people spend a fortune.
The RC industry is not limited to cars anymore either.
There are now so many choices. Now we have all heard of RC cars or to give it its full title remote controlled cars. Even within this category there are a number of sub categories.

There is of course the kid like I used to use which run on batteries as well as a step up with ones that can be charged from the mains.
There are then the really powerful and fast petrol RC Cars.

These are simply amazing where you can build them yourself and even upgrade parts to fully customise them as you see fit. You can then race them feeling like your own little formula one team.

To make it clear just how powerful these are the top of the range ones are fuelled with the same fuel you get from the local garage. It is a petrol and oil combination. A new introduction since I was a kid is the RC Helicopter. Just like it sounds this is a helicopter that you can fly around anywhere from your living room right up to your local park. Of course this depends greatly on what model you get.
You can pretty much forget flying one of the larger models around your living room without destroying the place. A variation on the theme is the RC Planes and RC Jets which are of a similar idea to that of the helicopter.

For this you will need more space as these can travel at quite a speed.

They are a little bit similar to the military planes you get that are used for reconnaissance.

RC Tanks are also a variation of RC Cars.
Slower than the car equivalent these still look amazing and are great for any collector.
There don't tend to be as many models of tanks as there are cars but designed as replicas of actual tanks they are good for both remote controlled vehicle fans and history lovers.
Finally are the RC Boats.

These really remind me of the kind you get at a holiday park where you put in 50p to be able to drive them around the water for ten minutes.

So you can see that since my day the industry has grown beyond all recognition.

If you are a fan of the past of want to be a fan of the future then it has never been a better time to get involved. With models coming both pre assembled and as do it yourself you can really have fun no matter your level of expertise. Investigate it today and unlock your new hobby.
