Evolving With Learning

Learning has, overt the years, made considerable advances in terms of methodology, practice, and implementation. This is because humans are basically in a constant state of learning throughout their lives, absorbing knowledge, stimuli, and other sensory input, storing the experience in their memory, then processing it into useful knowledge. Leaps in innovations and various forms of technology, have also allowed various innovations in the way that people acquire the needed learning. While the most common remains the classroom-type approach wherein there is a teacher/instructor, there have been other methods that were developed to primarily answer the need of those who do not function well in a classroom environment, or are not able to participate in learning through a classroom environment, such as those limited by physical disability, distance, and even profession. One of the most effective methods in learning that has been widely used by numerous people, even entire corporations for business and commercial applications, is e learning. E learning has become even more accepted and utilized because of the fact that it allows people to continue learning even beyond the age barrier typically established by most societies on learning. By taking the entire process of academic learning out of the classroom situation and into an environment that may prove to be more comfortable and less prejudiced, even elderly people still seeking to attain a degree or the equivalent of degree course may do so, whether for purposes requiring the equivalent of a college degree course, or for the personal gratification of having the equivalent of a graduate course. E learning has also provided a very convenient and effective method of delivering skill and knowledge upgrades for the employees of major corporations and institutions in statistically less time with better results as compared to that of previous training efforts without the benefit of e learning. This is because of the fact that the e learning methods of today are actually a composite of several training and learning methods that have been established as being able to deliver the most knowledge in the least amount of time and yet afford people greater retention of what is learned: Personalized private lessons - otherwise known as tutorial sessions, are among the most common forms of learning used by students, and to some extent, adults in their pursuit of knowledge. Being a form of individualized instruction wherein the learner is focused simply on the lesson at hand and nothing else, it is quite effective, thus making the delivery worth emulating in e learning. Recreations of situation - also known as simulations, primarily used in technical applications and situations wherein muscle memory is relevant, it is equally effective when integrated into the entire e learning approach. A simulation is a good way to enhance muscle memory by direct application of the knowledge. Electronic learning management systems - initially developed as an electronic procedure to electronically track and evaluate a person's need for additional knowledge or skills through a series of tests, this eventually became the backbone of e learning, making use of its very convenient platform.
